Few website builders will sign a BAA. As of October 2026, Wix offers PHI protection with a BAA on eligible plans, Squarespace offers a BAA only for Acuity Scheduling and not for its websites, self-hosted WordPress depends on your host and plugins, and the Aspire Builder Pro HIPAA plan covers your website, forms, CRM and scheduling in one account.
A note on fairness: we make Aspire Builder Pro, so read our own entry with that in mind. Every vendor detail below comes from that vendor's own published help pages, linked at the end.
| Platform | BAA available | What it covers | Watch for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wix | Yes, on Business, Plus, Elite, Business Elite and Enterprise plans | Site data after PHI protection is turned on, including new Wix Forms | Older forms must be rebuilt and third-party apps are not guaranteed |
| Squarespace | Only for Acuity Scheduling, on Premium or Powerhouse plans | Acuity Scheduling | The BAA does not cover other Squarespace features, including the website |
| Self-hosted WordPress | Depends on your hosting company | Whatever your host's BAA covers | Each plugin that touches patient data needs its own review |
| Aspire Builder Pro HIPAA plan | Yes, included at $297 per month | Website, forms, CRM and scheduling in one account | You still manage users, access and what you collect |
Wix lets eligible plans turn on PHI protection and sign a BAA inside the site dashboard. Wix notes that only new Wix Forms are covered, that notes added to a booking may be a problem, and that it cannot guarantee compliance for third-party apps. Read more in Is Wix HIPAA compliant?.
Squarespace's scheduling product, Acuity, can be HIPAA-enabled on its Premium or Powerhouse plans. Acuity's help center says the BAA does not cover other Squarespace features and that protected health information should not be kept or sent through Squarespace outside of Acuity. WordPress is open source software that you install on a host of your choice, so there is no single vendor BAA for the software itself. Compliance depends on a hosting company that signs a BAA and on every form, booking and chat plugin you add. It is flexible, but you carry the setup, updates and security work.
The HIPAA plan includes a signed BAA and puts your website, intake forms, CRM and scheduling in one account, with unlimited users and contacts. It costs $297 per month. See the HIPAA compliant website builder.
